The wording of our motto might seem strange; however, once you understand the use of the words, it makes a lot of sense.
Families - The definition of "family" has changed in many ways in the last 60 years. The Ozzie and Harriet days are far behind us. So far in fact, many of you might not understand the reference. As the definition of family changes,we are changing the way we care for those in our community, school, and congregation.
Coming Together - Families spend much less time together today than in past years. We hardly even eat together, let a lone work and play together. Often, families are in the same room but are distracted by all sorts of electronic games, gadgets and gizmos. We want to help families come together and enjoy the company they keep.
Uncommon Good - Colossians 3:12-17 gives us a picture of the Church Family in a perfect world. Our desire is to help our families model these verses. That would indeed be an uncommon good.
